Team Cousland

Martha Green (Proprietor).

Martha has been part of the Cousland Park since 2001. She joined as a livery but it wasn’t long before she was balancing a ‘sensible’ career as a PhD research scientist with her dream of working with horses.

Over the years Martha has been "groomed" for her current role; working as part of the Cousland Park team, successfully competing in a variety of equestrian disciplines, bringing on young horses and obtaining BHS qualifications.

With her passion for horses as strong as ever Martha decided to fulfil her lifelong dream by taking over the Cousland Park reins from former proprietor, Celia Henderson, in 2016 and hasn't looked back since.

Claire Fraser (Head Girl)

Claire joined Team Cousland in 2013. Claire’s qualifications in equine studies, her BHS and TRSS qualifications and her experience of working with horses enable her to fulfil her role as head girl. In this role, Claire is responsible for the day to day running of the yard.

Claire is an accomplished rider, she regularly competes in dressage and showjumping with a client’s horse but especially likes a blast round a good cross country!

Having completed her education and keen to start a career working with horses Emily joined Team Cousland in October 2016. Emily spent a lot of her spare time while at school working/helping on a livery yard and quickly learned the ropes at Cousland Park.

Ashliegh Spiers

Ashliegh initially worked at Cousland Park in 2015 and decided to return in December 2016 having had a break from working with horses. Prior to joining the Cousland team Ashliegh obtained a qualification in Horse Care from Borders College and worked with an equine behaviourist. Ashliegh has several horses of her own and when not working at Cousland Park she can be found looking after and riding her own horses.

The Hounds

Mishka (right), Princess (middle) and Bec (left) can regularly be found keeping an eye on yard proceedings. They’re generally a friendly bunch although may sometimes bark at strangers who they don’t recognise. Liveries can and do bring their dogs to the yard, all we ask is that you keep them under control and clean up after them!
